We’ll focus on several key decorating techniques: frosting a cake smoothly, adding texture and color washes with buttercream, adding metallic splatter, and creatively topping off your cake with other fun additions. Chef Carla will demo how to build a multi-layer cake with delicious filling inside Crumb-coat a cake Add a final layer of frosting to your cake and achieve lovely straight sides and sharp edges Tint buttercream and select a color palette Add texture to your cake using simple tools Paint on a cake with buttercream to create washes of color, gradients, and other watercolor-inspired looks Create an edible metallic “paint” and turn your cake into an artistic canvas Learn about other decoration options to take your cakes to the next level Get tips to practice at home and ideas to make your perfect cake Get answers to any cake questions that pop up along the way!
